EARTH MONTH 2021

SHOW YOU CARE

Donate. Participate. Round-Up.

Each year during the month of April, we celebrate Earth Month by raising money for local and global non-profit organizations that better our planet and communities.

This year, our fundraising efforts include various events and opportunities for donation. Neroli Salon & Spa will be hosting a Virtual Silent Auction and a Service-A-Thon with all proceeds going to The Urban Ecology Center and Charity: Water. We will also be supporting these foundations by taking donations, roundups, and offering fun spin-to-win opportunities for all guests in-store.

Urban Ecology Center

Local nonprofit organization

“The Urban Ecology Center connects people in cities to nature and each other. The three locations are open to the public and serve people of all ages and income levels across Milwaukee. Each year on average 200,000 people visit the Urban Ecology Center’s branches and parks for summer camps, environmental education programs, community science opportunities, and land stewardship activities.”

Their vision is to “inspire generations to build environmental curiosity, understanding, and respect. We restore hope and heal our urban natural world, neighborhood by neighborhood.”

“Today, the Urban Ecology Center has two additional locations in Milwaukee: one in Washington Park to serve communities and schools on Milwaukee’s west side and one in the Menomonee Valley on Milwaukee’s south side. We are a vibrant and growing organization, serving 77,000+ people each year and protecting and restoring urban green spaces in Milwaukee.”

charity: water

National nonprofit organization

“Charity:Water is a nonprofit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. 785 million people live without clean water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide, or, twice the population of the United States without access to life’s most basic human need. The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep kids out of school and take up time that parents could be used to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that make them sick.

When a community gets access to clean water, it can change just about everything. It can improve health, increase access to food, grow local economies, and help kids spend more time in school.

The water crisis is huge, but it is solvable. We work with local experts and community members to find the best sustainable solution in each place where we work, whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater. And with every water point, we fund, our partners coordinate sanitation and hygiene training and establish a local Water Committee to help keep water flowing for years to come.”
