Skin Care Routine For Men
I don’t know about you but trying to get my husband (or really any man in my life) to take care of his skin was like pulling teeth.
He would come up with every excuse in the book to not do the bare minimum for his skin. In the morning, I would nicely remind him to not forget his moisturizer. At night, I would beg him to use more than just water to “wash” his face.
Would he listen? Of course not. I’m sure his lack of interest stems from never being taught how or why it’s important to use skin care products. There’s probably a little bit of manly pride hidden in there as well.
Ladies, don’t give up! There are products out there that they will learn to love and appreciate just like you do. It just takes some persistence and patience until he starts noticing results and the rest is history. These are the products that my husband uses for his skin care routine.
Skin Care Routine - Men
I was finally able to get him to commit to a routine when I brought home these 3 products. The success started simply because of how easy they are to use and ended up liking the way they felt and how they didn’t leave any heavy residue on his face.
Botanical Kinetics Purifying Gel Cleanser
This cleanser is a gentle, lightweight cleanser that has a little bit of foaming action that helps you feel clean. It washes away oils and impurities without overly stripping the skin. The lavender in it is very subtle and soothing.
Outer Peace Pads
These are so great and easy to use. All he has to do is open the container, grab a pad, wipe his face, and throw it away! I have my husband use these because his skin is on the oily side and will sometimes have breakouts. These pads help cleanse, exfoliate, and unclog pores which help wipe out build up and prevent breakouts.
Botanical Kinetics Hydrating Lotion
The hydrating lotion is lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin.If the men in your life are anything like mine they hate the feeling of stuff on their skin especially slimy lotion. This stuff is perfect for someone who needs some moisture but doesn’t want to feel it.
Sun Care Hair and Body Cleanser

Since the first time traveling to Miami, I can remember, I’ve kept a bottle of Sun Care Hair and Body Cleanser. I was reluctant because it said Hair and Body Wash (I shave my head so didn’t need a shampoo). Typically skeptical of things that claim to be 2 in 1’s, I decided on taking a travel size. Little did I know, the travel size would pack a mean punch. Why? Because it’s the best post chlorine/salt-water cleanser out there. It works in both hard and soft water to remove that nasty gritty feeling from both skin and hair; also perfect at removing sunscreen too.
Of course there are plenty of hair and body products out there but what makes this so special is that it’s been specifically designed for post-sea/pool cleansing with a color-safe formula, which includes babassu and tamanu oil. babassu oil also removes chlorine, salt and product build-up while tamanu oil helps put back the moisture. The full list of ingredients are at the bottom of this post.
What I love even more than how it makes my skin feel, is the aroma: neroli, ylang-ylang and cistus (type of flower). Together these organic oils make it smell like oranges in a bottle; from the leaf to the juicy fruit – it’s an ayurvedic aroma experience from start to finish; like summer in a bottle.
You only need a tiny amount depending on the hardness of water (really hard, mineral rich water sometimes needs a little more) but afterwards your skin feels restored. Always use a good moisturizer if you’ve been out in the sun and water. Either the Beautifying Body Moisturizer or the Shampure Body Lotion are my choices.
Now, I have to just mention that just because these products are great for my husband, doesn’t mean they will be great for you or your significant other.
