Enhance Your Workouts With A Sports Massage

Is getting fit one of your goals this year? Whether you are a high intensity athlete or do weekly barre class, massage is the perfect way to keep your muscles soothed and relaxed.

Our team has been trained in corrective exercises and elite sports therapy massage by James Waslaski. James is a certified personal trainer with NASM, 1999 FSMTA International Achievement Award winner, works with olympic athletes, and was inducted into the 2008 Massage Therapy Hall of Fame.

Sports massage can be used to improve athletic performance, speed recovery, and can be utilized by all individuals who participate in any athletic or exercise program to help improve conditioning and maintain peak performance.

Individuals who participate in exercise and athletic programs who seek enhanced performance, improved conditioning, faster recovery, injury prevention, and assistance in maintaining peek fitness can benefit from massage therapy given by professional massage therapists working within their scope of practice.

When certain muscle groups get tight and facilitated, and opposing muscles get weak and inhibited, it leads to musculoskeletal pain and decreased athletic performance. Classic examples are Lower Crossed Syndrome where the hip flexors get tight causing the hip extensors to not only get weak, but to not fire in the proper firing order. In Upper Crossed Syndrome the anterior shoulder muscles get tight and facilitated, causing pain in the upper back due to weak, inhibited shoulder and cervical stabilizers. Our massage therapists can eliminate supination and over-pronation of the foot, rotational patterns of the knee, low back pain, cervical pain and shoulder and arm pain.
