Revitalizing Cupping Facial

After being trained in facial cupping I offered it to my long time guest Mary.

Her first question and concern: “Will it leave my face with purple marks all over it?” That’s when I realized that ‘cupping’ has become somewhat familiar to the public, by way of the trusty internet, as a technique that leaves large purple circle-shaped marks behind. Though that is true for some traditional massage cupping… it is NOT true for facial cupping!

If you were also thinking that when you heard “facial cupping,” let me reassure you: that is not the case here. Now your next question naturally must be “What does it do for your face?” Allow me to explain. It’s pretty simple really, and also pretty awesome.

“Will it leave my face with purple marks all over it?” That’s when I realized that ‘cupping’ has become somewhat familiar to the public. Though that is true for some traditional massage cupping… it is NOT true for facial cupping!
Facial cupping is done with small, soft cups over skin that has been pre-massaged with a good amount of oil. This ensures the cups glide across the skin, moving lymph that lies just beneath the skin. Lymph contains toxins that can affect the health and appearance of the skin, and moving it toward the lymph nodes helps to flush it out. Cupping removes excess fluid on the face and also removes adhesions in the facial muscles. This will actually refine the natural shape of the face.

After my cupping treatment, I noticed right away that my eye area looked amazing. Fine lines were less apparent and the puffiness: gone. My bags were missing (and I hoped no one would return them). The cups released so much pressure I had in my sinuses and tension in my jaw. I felt so relaxed after the treatment and my face felt lighter! I hadn’t realized just how much tension and stress I was carrying in my face until I felt the cups melt it all away.

Why should you get cupping?

  • refines your face shape
  • removes excess fluid, edema, and puffiness
  • hydrates skin
  • relieves tension in the face, notably sinus and jaw area
  • regular treatments ie: once a week for 6 weeks can produce pre-collage
  • improves skin tone
What’s not to love about that?

Note: If you’ve had fillers or botox in the last 6 months it is not recommended you have this treatment as it can affect the results of those injections. Cupping is not for skin that is currently experiencing severe acne with open wounds.
