Looking to get outdoors and support our community this Earth Month? Grab your gardening gloves and join our family-friendly event at Urban Ecology Center’s Riverside Branch on Saturday, April 30th.
UEC’s Neighborhood Engagement team will lead our group through prepping their community & learning gardens for the upcoming planting season. The learning gardens are used throughout the summer with their 6-week summer camp. Helping to prep the community gardens is greatly appreciated by UEC and our community, and having them properly prepped will aide in having garden plots filled for the season.
This work requires volunteers to kneel, bend and walk on uneven terrain. If you have physical limitations, but would still like to join, please click the box below and UEC will do their best to accommodate.
Please bring your own work gloves. All other tools necessary to complete the projects will be provided by UEC. Please dress for the weather as this is an outdoor volunteering event. Closed-toed shows are recommended, as well as anything else you may need to be comfortable outdoors (hat, gloves, scarves, etc.). It is also encouraged to bring your own reusable water bottles.
Masks are required indoors at UEC, and each volunteer will be given a waiver to sign.
In the event of inclement weather, we may need to modify, shorten, reschedule or cancel the project.
